Let us finally take a stand in Syria

Now that the Aleppo tragedy has played out, while we have stood by, can we not at least take some action, however late?  The US should use military force if necessary to protect and guarantee the safety of those who have surrendered as they leave the city.

Perhaps our shame over not at least imposing a no-fly zone over the city when the conflict raged and the Russians showed their true barbarism inhibits our action.  But it is better to at least help the survivors and defeated rebels get to safety and swallow our own wounded pride.

Crimea, Ukraine, now Syria.  Apparently Putin has read about the 1930s, so should we for its lessons.

And, what is it we stand for in the Middle East?
