Voting results and protection

Why have we not launched a vigorous national effort to learn what happened in 2016, and prevent the intrusion by outside powers in future elections?  We should have a national movement that includes states and the federal government, supported by resources from our very fine technology companies.  The fact that we have not taken aggressive action, especially against Russia when our intelligence community is so certain of their attempts, is evidence of political cowardice, or collusion.

If the audit of our election results, machines, and software that should be taking place is not, then we should show those responsible to the door and shame them out of any position of public trust.

We are a great nation, with an enviable constitutional system.  Why are our leaders not providing energetic and effective leadership?  Trump, you're failing  McConnell, you're a disgrace.  Ryan, absent without leave.  And where are our vaunted technology titans when their country needs them?

If it's politics - the fear of finding the election was compromised - then even more reason to find out why and how it happened.  We need honorable people, not those the founders feared would damage the country through the effects of faction.
