Damn the citizens

Well the judgment is in.  Keeping your job is more important than regular order, proper review and debate, bipartisanship.  Our GOP has made it very clear that keeping a promise to donors is more important.  The good of the country, the value of tradition, the courage to actually discuss and debate a major piece of legislation has been sacrificed to reelection.
They are tearing the fabric of our republic.


Whether or not it's a bad bill, the fact of adding to the national debt, and the projections for growth are worthy of debate.  That's a sound principle.  The patriotic members of Congress, who appeared to be uncomfortable with this charade have capitulated.  Perhaps more ambition over coming good judgment.


But there is still time.
