Better questions

Why isn't our press corps asking the deeper questions?  Who is hiring these illegal immigrants and why are they not the focus of action?  Who is providing the guns to the killers?  Who are these people that are "polled" and that cause such inordinate uproar among the press and public?


Entertainment is provided by reality shows, by fictional accounts of this life.  In this campaign season let's get beyond who is leading, who said what about whom, how much money candidates are raising.  There are plenty of issues that require attention, and insight to allow the voters to make informed choices.  Rather than sprint for ratings whole hog, why not fulfill the press function our founders imagined - you stand in our place and get the details so we can choose, and choose wisely.
